He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Kearns and Mary Kearns (Bass); his wife Eleanor "Peachie" Kearns; and his daughter-in-law Cathy Kearns. He is survived by: his children, Rocky Kearns (Missy), Chip Kearns (Wanda), Ricky Kearns (Stacy) and Babe Barton (John); his siblings, Danny Kearns (Joyce), Goldie Duncan and Linda Stewart; and his grandchildren, Johnny Barton (Krystle), Adam Barton (Jennifer), Joe Barton (Alex), Rocky Jr. Kearns (Crystal), Kathy Coleman (Jimmy), Lisa Cook (Joe), Bryan Kearns (Leslie), Beth Kearns (Kevin Klingsmith), Ricky Jr. Kearns (Hannah), Dalton Kearns (Hannah), Hallie Kearns and Rocky Kearns III. He is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-greatgrandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home (2275 S 2nd St, Mason, WV 25260). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
