She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy "Jimmy" Edward and Christene Virginia Kerwood (Johnson); her grandson Tommy Short; and her siblings, James "Boots" Kerwood, William "Bill" Kerwood, Jack Kerwood and Gloria Carpenter.

She is survived by: her children, James Short (Marsha), Gary Short (Brenda), Dixie Gardner (Carl) and Kathy Donovan (George); her grandchildren, Kristi Short, Kimberly Johnson (John), Dale Blount (Tonya), Tera Gardner (Becky) and Michelle Donovan; and her sisters, Leta Bland, Emogene Duncan and Dixie Neal. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren.
