It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melanie Renee Hopkins of Midway, West Virginia, who passed away on August 17, 2023, at the age of 42, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Terry Matthews; her grandparents, David, Maxine Matthews, Casey and Clara Jones; her stepfather Dwight Bowers; and her brother-in-law Fred Acord.
She is survived by: her mother Frances Jones Bowers of Beckley; her sister Michelle Matthews-Acord (Michael Powell) of Rhodell; her children, Dylan Lilly of Cool Ridge, Brooklyn Lytton of Princewich and John-Ryan Hopkins of Coal City; and her siblings, Walter Farmer, Jr. of Midway and Shawn Reed of Midway. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
