He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Hammond and Mary Hammond (Lutz); his aunt Dorothy Blackwell; his uncle Don Lutz; his parents-in-law, Hattie Brown and Norman Brown; and his siblings-in-law, Sandra Flanders, Banty Carden, Lydia Brown, Joe Brown, Kennie Carden and Ron Flanders.
He is survived by: his wife Dedra "Dee" Hammond (Brown); his daughters, Zoey Hammond and Marrlee Hammond (Jalen); his granddaughters, Mckenna Thomas and Bellemy Hammond-Thomas; his siblings, Debbie (Hammond) Lemley (Rick) and Jon Hammond; and his siblings-in-law, Belinda Bailes (Dellas), Jack Brown (Sandy), Micky Brown (Belinda) and Vernon Brown (Diane). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Orient Hill Tabernacle (2108 Coalfield Trail, Charmco, WV 25958).
