With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gene A. Pitzer of Moatsville, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 15, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl B. Pitzer and Pauline S. Pitzer (Strawderman); his wife Joan Pitzer (Kowalski); his brother-in-law John Thomas Frey; and his siblings, Paul Pitzer, David Pitzer and Shelia McVicker.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Pitzer (Amy) and Joanne Williard (Bob); his siblings, Lowell Pitzer (Sue), Noretta Frey, Sandra Simpson (Cecil) and Karen Whaley (Marvin); and his grandchildren, Kelli Jackson (Mtume), Chris Pitzer, Lydia Phillips and Mari Pitzer.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Home (220 N Walnut St, Philippi, WV 26416). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
