We announce the death of Carl Sherman Sr. of Moorefield, West Virginia, who passed away on July 10, 2026, at the age of 82. Carl will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ocie Eugene Sherman and Nellie Grace Sherman (Crites); his wife Rose Lee Kimble Sherman; his son Carl Wayne Sherman Jr.; his son-in-law Mark Flinn; and his siblings, Mary Ann Ganoe, Josephine "Duckie" Conrad and Ray "Mutt" Sherman.
He is survived by: his children, Penny Halterman (Rick), Lara Tanner (Todd) and Charles "Chuckie" Whetzel; his grandchildren, Alicia Riggleman (Robbie), Cassandra Harman, Kenneth Sherman, Brittany Rinker (Eugene), Dylan Flinn (Hunter), Sumer Miller (Jesse) and Trace Tanner; his great grandchildren, Kiersten, Tristen, Ashlen, Brycen, Riley, Maddie, Carlie, Aiden, Wren, Kayla, Maverick and Maddox; and his siblings, Neil Sherman, Eugene Sherman, Wendell Sherman, Woodrow Sherman, Carol Crites, Susan Kyle and Elizabeth Martin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
