It is with sadness that the passing of Darwin Simmons of Moorefield, West Virginia is shared. Darwin, born on February 27, 1940, passed away on October 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arno C. Simmons and Jean Elizabeth Barr Simmons; his grandson Jackson Simmons; his brothers-in-law, Tom Kewecki, Gary Lee, Steve Palmer and Gaylord Brooks; his uncle Lyle; and his aunt Gladys Hardy.
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn E. Simmons; his sons, Jeremy Simmons (Stephanie) of Fisher, WV and Daniel Simmons (Heather) of Moorefield, WV; his stepchildren, Stephanie Vetter (Jay) of Burlington, NC and Tim Wratchford (Pam) of Hanover, VA; his sisters, Shirley Brooks of Cumberland, MD, Peggy Simmons of Fisher, WV and Pat Palmer of Vienna, VA; and his close friend John Swick.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Oakdale Christian Church (3989 Rig Rd, Moorefield, WV 26836). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
