He was predeceased by: his parents, Ocie Eugene Sherman and Nellie Grace Crites Sherman; his wife Dorothy Lee Vetter Sherman; his son Rex Sherman; and his siblings, Mary Ganoe, Josephine "Duckie" Conrad, Ray "Mutt" Sherman and Carl Sherman.
He is survived by: his siblings, Carol Crites, Sue Kyle, Libby Martin, Wendell, Woodrow and Neil; his children, JoAnn See, Margaret Murrell, Lloyd (Faye) and Timmy (Libby); his grandchildren, Tyler (Sarah), Brandon (Breanna), Tanner (Valeria), Tucker, Morgan, Aurora, Amelia and Harley; his great grandchildren, Clattie, Diana, Brooklen, Maverick, Archer, Brantlee and Cooper; and his stepchildren, Debbie Wilson (Gale), Pam Schell (Dane) and Brodell Wilson.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel (107 Washington St, Moorefield, WV 26836). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
