He is survived by: his parents, Edward Eugene Metheny and Deborah Ann Hoffman Metheny of Old Fields, WV.; his son Edison Kent Metheny; his former wife Elizabeth Metheny; his brothers, Brenton Metheny (Sarah) of Petersburg and Brian Wilson (Elizabeth); his nephews, Seth Wilson (Lydia), Addison Wilson (Kailey), Jason Kenyon, Payton Metheny, Aiden Callixte, Parker Metheny and Sawyer Metheny; his great-niece Rylan Wilson; Lindsay Wilson of Moorefield, WV. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Moorefield Church of the Brethren (115 Clay St, Moorefield, WV 26836).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Jacob Metheny Memorial Scholarship Fund at Pendleton Community Bank, 402 S Main Street, Moorefield, WV 26836 in his honor and memory.
