He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia Cottrell; and his brother Claude Cottrell. He is survived by: his wife Tina Thompson; his children, Amanda Buchanan, Jose Santiago, Anthony Santiago and Ashley Pursel; and his siblings, Terry Thompson and Carla Cottrell. He is also survived by many other children who looked up to him as a father.
