He was predeceased by: his parents, Reay D. Hackney and Bertha O. Smith Hackney; his wife Betty Jean Hackney; his son Rev. David M. White; and his siblings, Norman Hackney, Marjorie Hackney Allgauer and Lilian Hart Kessler.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Missi White (Patrick Kendall) of Huntersville, NC, Kim George of Morgantown, David M. White, II of Morgantown and Tanner White of Morgantown; his great grandchildren, Nick Ely, Brandon Ely, Jesse Ely, Ryan Malott, Morgan Malott, Madison George, Haley White, Autumn and Thomas Ely; his brother-in-law Ed Kessler of Arlington, VA; and his daughter-in-law Joyce Rodeheaver White. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
