He was predeceased by: his parents, Alston Britton and Ormeda Sommerville Britton; his wife Phyllis Welch Britton; his stepmother Nell Bartlett Britton; and his sister Virginia Gough (Jerry Gough).
He is survived by: his daughter Mary Beth; his son-in-law Alan Wise of Morgantown, WV; his son Jack Lee Britton of York, SC; and his siblings-in-law, John R. Welch Jr., Charles A. Welch and Rena Haddad (Robert Haddad). He is also survived by three nieces and spouses and one nephew and spouse; and four great nephews.
