With profound sadness, we say goodbye to John Ely of Morgantown, West Virginia, born in Charleston, South Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. John left this world on November 2, 2025 at the age of 69, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his brothers, Bill and Barry. He is survived by: his wife Lynne; his sons, Andrew (Lacey) of Morgantown and Lee of Holly Springs, NC; his siblings, Karen Carter (Roy) of Arizona, Teresa Bowen of Indiana and Karl (Debbie) of Kansas; his grandchildren, Vivien, Levi Ely of Morgantown, Isabelle, Ashtyn and Emmie Ely of Holly Springs; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Ely, Frances Brownfield and Alice Cunningham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
