It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Shoemaker Sr. of Morgantown, West Virginia, born in Fairmont, West Virginia, who passed away on June 7, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Loyal Amos and Gertrude Furman Shoemaker; his wife Ethel Rosalie Hupp Shoemaker; and his siblings, William'Bill'Shoemaker, Percy'Perry'Shoemaker, June Cryderman, Nancy Morgan, Valerie Sigley and Krista Shoemaker.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Shoemaker Newcome (Michael), John Shoemaker, Jr., Steven Shoemaker and Stacy Marie Moore (Jeremy); his stepdaughter Amanda Shaffer (Michael); his grandchildren, Channing Shoemaker, Rosemary Chase, Jessica Newcome, Mitchell Newcome, Garrette Shoemaker (Sarah), Nicole Shoemaker, Joni Lee Shoemaker, Brooke Rowe, Brittany Flynn (Thomas), Brandi Lewis, Cheyne Lewis, Sadie Moore, Caleb Moore, Steven Shoemaker, Jr., Hunter Shoemaker, Daniel Robinson, Dakota Shaffer, Maddie Shaffer and Jonah Shaffer; his great grandchildren, Jacoby Shoemaker, Amelia Shoemaker, Jaiden Shoemaker, Athena Suiter and Lennox Suiter; and his siblings, Loyal'Junior'Shoemaker, Jr., Donald'Duke'Shoemaker, Neda Glover, Donna West, Cynthia'Cindy'Miller and Susan Sheppard. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
