He was predeceased by: his parents, John Taylor and Myrtle Taylor (Skarren); his siblings, Dot Wisniewski and Barb Welsh; and his grandson Charles Shahan.
He is survived by: his wife Caroline Taylor (Cotter); his children, Anita Courlesky, Dawn Shahan, Joe Taylor Jr., Rod Taylor and Michael Taylor; his grandchildren, Ashley, Tara, Alicia, Ryan, Robbie, Ridge, Joelle, Korie and Jolyn; his siblings, Kay Jacobs, Denny Taylor, Bob Taylor and Jackie Taylor; and his pets, Hercules, Athena, Roo Roo and Grayson. He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
