Michael D. Cantrell Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 6, 2025, at the age of 25, Michael D. Cantrell of Morgantown, West Virginia, born in Carbondale, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandfather Dr. Richard Sokol. He is survived by: his parents, Noreen E. Sokol (Darrell Kirk) and Matthew Cantrell; his sister Megan Cantrell; his sibling-in-law Keaton Walley of West Frankfort, IL; his siblings, Amanda Cantrell of Chicago, IL and Gage Carozzi of Pennsylvania; his grandparents, Subun Sokol of Marion, Darrell, Connie Kirk of West Frankfort, Diane Watson of Benton, IL and Leroya Sokol of Marion; his aunts and uncles, Jessica, Justin Gibbs of Carbondale, Sabrina Sokol of Tennessee and Leahann Lampley of Paducah, KY; and his cousins, Avery Robertson, Devin Robertson, Madisyn Gibbs and Makenna Gibbs. He is also survived by several other extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, May 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home (900 N Court St, Marion, IL 62959). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
For those who prefer, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the "AP3 Hope Foundation, Inc." Envelopes will be available during the visitation or may be mailed c/o Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL 62959.
