It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Matthews of Morgantown, West Virginia, born in Welch, West Virginia, who passed away on May 19, 2023, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Boyd and Willetta Rose Matthews; his son Nick Matthews; his siblings, Jane Matthews and Harry Matthews; his brother-in-law Charlie Blevins; and his mother-in-law Doris Fay Smith.
He is survived by: his spouse Robin Kay Matthews; his children, Ritch Matthews (Lauren Cramer), James Matthews, JB Matthews (Brittney) and Christina Krupa (Mark); his grandchildren, Calvin, Payton, Bronson, Jayden, Jaxson Matthews, Hailey, Levi, Kylie and Kyle Krupa; and his siblings, Steve Matthews (Beverly), Danny Matthews (Carmen), Brenda Blevins, Sandy Snyder (Rick) and Jeff Matthews (Valerie).
