He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil L Whetzel, Sr. and Helen Lee Ringer; and his sister Judy Phillips. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Michael Lee (Pam) of Whispering Pines, N. C. and Cathy Lyn Whetzel of Morgantown, WV; his brother David Whetzel (Jo) of Morgantown; his brother-in-law John Phillips; his grandchildren, Evan Whetzel (Colleen), Natasha McClean (Chase) of Delaware, Laura, Sarah, Joshua Liming of Morgantown, Kelsey Whetzel, Kaylee, Jason McIntosh, Terry McKenzie (Robin) and Kaitlin Finilli (Gabriel); and his great grandchildren, Nathan, Daliah, Blair, Brandy, Cruise, Jazon, Jace, Bentley and Ila.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Sunday, May 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the McCulla Funeral Home (770 Fairmont Rd, Morgantown, WV 26501). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
