He was predeceased by : his parents, Howard Melvin Dorsey Jr. and Dolores Baker McIntyre; his wife Elizabeth Darlene Trent Dorsey; his stepparents, Margaret Dorsey and Flash McIntyre; his sister Brenda Stein; and his stepson John Edwards.

He is survived by : his partner Shirley Whitlatch; his children, Bill Dorsey (Stephanie) and Carrie Bennett (Matt); his stepchildren, Kimiko Ross, David Whitlatch (Veronica) and Roy Whitlatch; his siblings, Tom Dorsey (Petra), Kevin Dorsey (Renee), Dora Smith (Mark), Bryon McIntyre (Zoe) and Kelly Hess (Richard); and his stepbrothers, Les Pultz (Michelle) and Jay Pultz (Barbara). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
