He was predeceased by: his grandmother Bober; his parents, Eugene McDonald and Helen B. McDonald (Bober); and his sister Norma Bersford. He is survived by: his wife Shirley McDonald (West) of Moundsville; his sons, Jeff McDonald (Susan) of Sistersville, WV and Gregory McDonald (Yolanda) of Moundsville, WV; his sisters, Sherry Brady of Moundsville, WV and Terry Childress of South Pointe, OH.; his grandchildren, Vanessa McDonald of Moundsville, WV, Kayla Longwell (Thomas) of Moundsville, WV and Jeffrey McDonald (Carlie) of Weirton, WV; and his great grandchild Lyra Mae Longwell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
