He is survived by: his wife Mary Josephine Abshire of Mount Hope, WV; his children, Michelle Leigh Abshire of Mount Hope, WV, Jessica Rian Brackett of Raleigh, NC and David Lawrence Abshire of Mount Hope, WV; and his siblings, Pam Hall (Larry) of Ripley, WV, Stan Abshire (Carla) of Sissonville, WV and Steve Abshire of Curtsville, WV. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws.
