He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Wriston and Clara Wriston (Williams); his wife Louise Elaine Wriston; his siblings, Sylvia Jean Pennington, Loraine Mae Baxter, Nancy June Wriston, Bertha Pearl Wriston, Denny Ray Wriston and Everette Junior Wriston; his granddaughters, Olivia and Paisley; and his nephews, Willard Ray Pennington, Barry Lynn Davis, Roger Lynn Baxter and Johnny Vernon Pennington.
He is survived by: his children, Earnest Steven Wriston (Jimmy Wriston), Crystal (Tina Runyon), Richard (Michael Wriston), Susan Brown (Amanda Gray), Chad (Jacob Wriston) and Evelyn (Lori Wriston); his siblings, Anna Davis (Leonard) and Keith "Dukey" Wriston (Frances); his grandchildren, Josh Wriston (Crystal), Jessie Wriston (Rita), Keith Wriston (Devin), Jonathon Wriston (Jessica), Christian Runyon (Felicia), Elizabeth Shrewsbury (Ethan), Jamie Wriston, Katie Becker (J. J.), Halie Puckett (Robert), Kassidy Currey (Dakota), Samantha Bryant (Anthony), Jordan Gray, Hannah Graham (Tyler) and Emrie Kate Richardson; and his great grandchildren, Jace, Jaxon, Isabella, Annabella, Eva, Rhayna, Rylan, Taegan, Talie, Topanga, Colton Magnolia, Brelynn, Granger, Riley, Dominic, Ryleigh, Houston, Callie, Delainee, Braxton, Noah, Aleigha, Gracelyn, Brinley, Ema, Remington, Gunner, Jaxen, Jaylee, Jamison, Walter and Waylon. He is also survived by fifteen nieces and nephews; thirty-one great nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Pax Advent Church (114 Circleview Dr, Beckley, WV 25801). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Thompson Cemetery.
