He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Tanner and Lyda Sampson Tanner; his children, Steve Tanner and Dorma Tanner; and his siblings, Russell, Romie, Richard, Andy, Seldon, Spencer, Homer, Harry Tanner, Myrtle Tanner Dickey and Lula Tanner Cutlip.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Tucker Tanner; his children, Larry Tanner (April) of Charleston, Jerry Tanner (Karla) of Nebo and Loretta Brady (James) of Nebo; his daughter-in-law Sue Tanner of Charleston; his grandchildren, Stefanie Stutler (Casey), Dennis Conley (Greta), Jordan Tanner, Joseph Tanner, Emma Tanner and Luke Tanner; and his great grandchildren, Graceyn Conley, Kamryn Stutler, Karter Brown and Peyton Nelson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
