He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lee Phillips (Wilson); his sons, Ralph Phillips Newburg (Julie), Richie Phillips Thornton (Tammy) and Derek Phillips Philippi (Amy); his adoptive son Scotty Carder (Danielle); his grandchildren, Whitney Phillips, Nick Phillips (Haeley), Chelsea Phillips (Chad), Haley Phillips (Logan), Markus Carder, Julie Phillips, Kylie Phillips and Charlie Carder; his great grandchildren, Temperance, Rydely, Lincoln, Maverick, Amiyah and Dominic; his siblings, Norma Shay, Deloris Kacin, Donald Phillips (Patty), Ronald Phillips (Nina) and Camden Phillips (Peggy); and his stepbrother Evert Austin of Youngsville, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Sunday, May 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bolyard Funeral Home & Cremation (79 Morgantown Ave, Newburg, WV 26410). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
