He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arthur Hicks and Ruby Beatrice Shelton Hicks; his grandson Ezra Daniel Hicks; and his siblings, James Hicks, Charles Hicks and Opal Brewster.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Kaylene Hicks; his children, Arthur Daniel "Beebs" Hicks, Jr. (Nikki) of Princeton, WV, Emilee Wingo (Derek) of Caretta, WV and Ruby Braxton (Antoinne) of Newhall, WV; his sisters, Linda Leake and Patsy Hicks; and his grandson Nathan Daniel Szaller.
