He was predeceased by : his parents, Charlie Fields and Sallie Sutherland Fields; and his sisters, Dollie Matney (Lawrence) of Newhall and Carrie Hicks of Mallory, WV. He is survived by : his wife Mary Helen Fields; his children, Clinton Ivan Fields Jr. of Princeton, Sally Dillow (Mike) of Wytheville, VA and Angie Lester (Elbert) of Newhall; his daughter-in-law Heather Fields of Princeton; his grandchildren, Breanne Fields, Brayden Fields, Jada Lester and Autum Lester; and his pet Charlie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and "bonus" children.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Newhall Advent Christian Church (812 Cucumber Ck Rd, Newhall, WV 24866). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
