She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Westfall and Fairie Westfall (MiMi); her husband Donald F. Simpson; her son Gregg W. Simpson; her brothers, Claude Z. Westfall (Zeb) and H. Donald Westfall (Donny); and her nephew Jeffrey L. Westfall (Jeff).
She is survived by: her daughters, Kimberly Simpson and Tracy LaBenne; her grandchildren, Meredith LaRue Metcalfe, Samantha Dorsey, Andrew Simpson and Erin Simpson Lear; her great grandchildren, Levi Simpson, Wendy Simpson, Ava Lear and David Lear; her daughter-in-law Leeanne Scribner; her niece Cindy Westfall Springston; her nephews, Scott Westfall and Stuart Westfall; and her cousin Suzanne Buffington Berman.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home (201 Edison St, Nutter Fort, WV 26301). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at the Bridgeport Cemetery (201 Edison St, Nutter Fort, WV 26301).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made in Joanne's memory to a charity of one's choice, reflecting her spirit of giving and generosity.
