She was predeceased by: her parents, William Patterson and Goldie Leep Patterson; her husband Edward Joseph "Bill" Oates; her children, Gary E. Oates, Sr. and Judy Oates; and her siblings, Okey Patterson, Isabelle Ridgeway and Bernadine Scullin.

She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Connie Oates; her grandson Dr. Gary E. Oates, Jr. (Kaela); and her great grandchildren, Carter and Emily.
