With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betsy Propst Lefkowitz of Parsons, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 9, 2025 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Floyd Propst and Florence Norman Propst-Schilansky; her son Elmer Pat Shaffer; her daughters-in-law, Rebecca Shaffer and Brenda Shaffer; and her siblings, James Norman Propst and Cynthia Corina Roberts.
She is survived by: her son Larry Allen "Mike" Shaffer of Holly Meadows; her grandchildren, Bernard "Dale" Shaffer (Melissa), Michael Allen Shaffer (Cynthia) and Shelly Michelle Renee Bolyard; and her great grandchildren, Carleigh Bolyard, Paige Shaffer, Ava Shaffer, Tiffany Shaffer and Amanda Ferguson.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Tucker County Animal Shelter. Keep Betsy's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
