She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerald "Jerry" V. Pershing and Edith Marie Kile Pershing; her spouse Artie "Donny" Donovan Poling (Pifer Mountain) of Parsons, WV; and her sisters, Marjorie D. Pershing and Mary Lou Swift.
She is survived by: her children, James Pershing Poling and Marjorie "Jane" Poling Wright (John) of Hot Springs, VA; her grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Wright and James Robert Wright (Jerilyn); her great grandchildren, Kate Marie and Anna James Wright; her stepgrandchildren, Carmen and Joshua Bowes; her brother Verne Pershing (Leslie) of Placerville, CA; and her niece Windigo Swift of California.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hostetler Funeral Home (225 Walnut St, Parsons, WV 26287). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made on behalf of Joan Poling to the Tucker County Senior Center, 217 Senior Lane, Parsons, WV 26287, WV Caring Hospice, 169 Diamond St, Elkins, WV 26241, or the Preservation of the St. George Academy.
