He was predeceased by : his parents, George Lee Hightower and Annie Kuhn Hightower; and his siblings, Betty Carrol, Linda Murphy, Nora Childers, George, Tom, Bernard and Bill Hightower.

He is survived by : his wife Stella Hightower; his sons, Ricky Hightower and Ralph Hightower; his siblings, Rebecca Hightower, Nellie Cremeans (Leonard) and Charles Hightower (Joyce); his grandchildren, Billy Hightower, Zachery Gilliam, Dylan and Whitney Thompson; and his great grandchild Nova Hightower.
