He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottie Hardy and Bernie Hardy (Barr); his wife Ann; his daughter Susan Hardy Cosner; his siblings, Lyle Hardy, Lura Evans, Helen Hyre, Norma Hiser, Janie Riggleman and Howard Hardy; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Evans, Bruce Hyre, Keith Hiser, Ralph Riggleman, Donald Graham and Gladys Hardy.

He is survived by: his daughter Lisa Hardy McMasters of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; his grandchildren, Heather McMasters-Reynolds (Rachael) of Wilmington, Delaware and Wesley Carl Cosner of Petersburg; his siblings, Victor Hardy (Betty) of Fisher and Annalee Graham of Fort Ashby; and his sister-in-law Lavaughn Hardy of Rig. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
