He was predeceased by: his parents, George Stanton, Sr. and Grace Stanton (Browning); and his siblings, James Stanton, George "Chic" Stanton, Jr., Sankey "Sam" Stanton, Mildred Shackelford, Bernice Green, Vera Whitehead, Gertrude Blanton, Sandra Simpson and Mary Baker.
He is survived by: his wife Lisa Stanton; his children, Joseph Stanton (Carolyn), Gabriel Stanton, Monica Goltare (Mark), Sandra Kyle (Jerome) and Glenda Frantz (Stuart); his grandchildren, Katelyn Riggleman (Clint), Matthew Twyman (Brittany), Jesseca Thompson, Colton Thompson (Becka) of Page Frantz, J. T., John Gibson (Samantha), Joseph Gibson, Sallie Ujlaky (Nick), Randall Gibson (Brittney), Daniel Goltare (Nicole), Michael Amos (Morgan) and Samantha Farmer (Michael); and his sisters, Esther Teilmann, Georgia Zuckerman, Helen Gillum (Van) and Ruth James. He is also survived by twenty-six great grandchildren.
