He was predeceased by: his parents, Dyer Lough Mongold and Myrtle Mary Mongold (Hall); his wife Sandra Kaye Mongold (Alt); and his siblings, Mary Ann Black, Edna C. Alt, James E. Mongold and Larry D. Mongold.
He is survived by: his children, Roger W. Mongold II, Blake G. Mongold (Haley) and Kimberly S. Burgess (Brent Burgess); his grandchildren, Chase Mongold, Alec Burgess, Lacey Mongold and Jenna Burgess Miller (Dakota); his mother-in-law Diane Alt; his siblings-in-law, Doris Mongold, Delena Wirth (Keith), Shanna E. Alt, H. Mark Alt (Ellyn), Bradley C. Alt (Angie) and Daniel P. Alt (Terry); Ella. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home (11 N Main St, Petersburg, WV 26847). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
