With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gloria Spangler of Peterstown, West Virginia, who passed away on January 5, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil E. Stephens and Vera Browning Stephens; her sister Celia; her brother-in-law Dan Sweat; her son Harry Stephen Spangler; and her husband Harry Rushbrooke Spangler.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Spangler McGlothlin (Tiger) of Narrows, Carl Scott Spangler (Renee) of Peterstown and Phillip Lee Spangler (Dessi) of Cartersville, GA; her grandchildren, Tiffany Myers (Chris), Cecil Spangler (Ann Marie), Elisabeth Blevins (Kenneth), Cody Coulter (Taylor), Josh Spangler (Sarah), McCoy, Anna Spangler, Cota, Matt McGlothlin, Cooper Spangler, Bradley, Brandon Orr, DeeDee, Megan Spangler and Jennifer Behret; her great grandchildren, Kurt, Henry, John, Jacob, Noah, Collin, Hope, Autumn, James, Josie, Khloe, Bryson, Brody, Emma, Amelia, Oliver and Charlie; Jenna Spangler (Conner) of Sugar Grove, VA., Lori, Connor Behret, Boston Terrier and Patsy.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that money be donated to the youth and children's ministry at First Baptist Church of Narrows.
