He was predeceased by: his parents, Newman B. Evans and Alma Campbell Evans; his siblings, Danny, Brownie, Rocky, Glen Evans, Geraldine "Jerry" Riffe, Joan Hines and Minnie Taylor; his in-laws, Roby, Rita Gautier, Jack and Rhetta Neal; and his siblings-in-law, Waddie Robertson, Judy Evans and Barbara Evans.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Evans; his children, Jackie "Tank" Evans Jr. of Narrows, Virginia and Whitney Cruz (Eliseo) of Narrows, Virginia; his grandchildren, Kari Evans of Blacksburg, Colt Evans of Rich Creek, Aaron Cruz of Narrows and Micah Cruz of Narrows, Virginia; his great grandchild Koi Evans of Lindside; and his sisters-in-law, Joann Gunter (Buck) of Lindside and Gail Evans of Gap Mills. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
