Eric Godwin Obituary
We announce the death of Eric Godwin (Philippi, West Virginia), who passed away on August 30, 2026, at the age of 49. Eric will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his mother Diane Purkey of Philippi, WV.; his grandparents, Ralph Godwin, John and Juanita Purkey; his uncles, Charles Purkey and Elmer; and his aunt Georgia Godwin.
He is survived by: his mother Michelle Godwin of Myrtle Beach; his wife Sarah Godwin; his stepchildren, Ariana, Isabella and Rylee; his brother Jason; his sister-in-law Sarah; his niece Alia; his sister-in-law Rachel (Joe Cuppari); his grandmother Willodine Godwin (Chex Mix); his aunt Barbara Godwin; and his mother-in-law Denise. He is also survived by his wife, her three daughters, his family, and the many friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Home (220 N Walnut St, Philippi, WV 26416).
