It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Floyd Poling of Philippi, West Virginia, who passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Poling and Nora Poling (Auvil); his former wife Patty Ruth Poling (Reynolds); and his siblings, Pauline Price (Bill), Rose Marsh (Arthur), Esta Howdershelt (Vernon), Leota O'Neal (Harry) and Kenneth Poling.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Sue Shaffer; his children, Douglas Poling of Manassas, VA and Lois Poling of Locust Grove, VA; his grandchildren, Jordan and Emilie Poling; his sisters, Faye Haddix (Burl), Joann Bolyard (late Linwood) and Patty Bolyard (Donald); and his sister-in-law Martha Alice Poling.
