Jeremy Halmuth Obituary
Jeremy R. "Bonzi" Halmuth, age 39, a resident of the Union Community, near Philippi, ended his journey in this life on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, while under the care of Mountain Hospice, with his family by his side following a nine-month battle of cancer. He was a beloved son, cherished friend, and had a vibrant spirit whose kindness and warmth will be profoundly missed.
Mr. Halmuth was born on August 23, 1986, a son to Richard "Yank" and Anna M. (Crotchfelt) Halmuth.
Jeremy had never married however he had a lady friend, Amanda Foltice.
He leaves behind a brother, David Cottrill, and his K-9 daughter, Roxie, whom he loved, and she is really going to miss him so much, maternal aunts Bobbie Difenbach, and Barbara McDonald, Uncle Billy Crotchfelt, several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Halmuth was preceded in death by his sister; Tracy L. Cottrell, maternal grandfather, William Crotchfelt and paternal grandparents, Henry and Catherine Halmuth, and uncles, Robert Halmuth, and Hugh Diefenbach.
Jeremy was a Certified Nursing Assistant, he formally worked for Genesis, he lastly worked for Clarksburg Health Care where his career ended due to his health. The reason he became a CNA was to help people, that was his calling and did this for many people along the way. If you believe that there are Angels Among Us, he most certainly was one. Jeremy was a movie buff, he liked all kinds of movies, especially horror movies, every year on October 1, he would start watching them the whole month of October, he had over 3, 000 movies in his collection, he also enjoyed going to heavy metal concerts. Jeremy's zest for life was evident in all that he did. He had a unique ability to connect with others, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. His gentle heart and generous nature were hallmarks of his character, and he inspired those around him to be their best selves.
In honoring Jeremy's wishes his remains were cremated a celebration of his life will be held later. The Kittle Family Funeral Home of Philippi is honored to be assisting the family with the arrangements.
