Katlynn "Katie bugs" Nicole Croston, 22, of Grafton, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, in the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV., following a brief illness.
She was born on June 1, 2004, and brought joy, love, and light to all who knew her throughout her 22 years. Katlynn was the beloved daughter of Stephen Croston, Nikki Riddle, Crystal Tummino, and Joseph Tummino. She was a cherished sister to April Croston, Brooklyn Parsons, Michael Parsons, Garrett Parsons, Dylan Parsons, Mykenna Tummino, Jocelyn Cumberledge, Abigail Parsons, Zayden Moore, and Waylon Barker. Katlynn found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time with her family, playing on her iPad, and watching her favorite show, Doc McStuffins. More than anything, Katlynn loved and was loved deeply by those around her. Katlynn's heart was bigger than words can describe. She loved to give and receive affection, especially her famous bear hugs. She was kind, forgiving, graceful, and had a special way of making everyone feel welcome. To Katlynn, there were no strangers—everyone she met became a friend. She shared an especially deep and unbreakable bond with her sister, April, whose love and companionship meant the world to her. Those who knew Katlynn often said she was too special for this earth. Her gentle spirit, loving nature, and beautiful soul touched countless lives and will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Family and friends will be received at the Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi, WV., on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Lennie Minard Jr. will officiate and burial will follow in the Mayle Collins Cemetery. Though Katlynn's time with us was far too short, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain forever. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
