He was predeceased by: his parents, Brooks M. Cleavenger and Clara Cleavenger (Costilow); and his siblings, David Cleavenger, Glenwood "Buck" Cleavenger, Brooks Cleavenger Jr., James "Jimmy" Cleavenger, Dow Estel Cleavenger, Cindy Wingate, Betty Jean Ichon and Violet Evans.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Marie Cleavenger (Brownfield); his son Leonard Dale Cleavenger of Flemington; his granddaughter Lillyanna Marie Cleavenger of Belington; and his sisters, Dorothy Renault of Ohio and Clara Marie Boyer of Ohio.
