Linda Day Obituary
Linda Sue Day, age 77, a resident of Mansfield Place of Philippi, WV., and a former resident of the Baughman Towers of Philippi, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2026, at Mansfield Place.
She was born into this life on January 13, 1949, in Clarksburg, WV., a daughter to the late Nina May (Sigley) Day, Gorge Day, and stepfather, Thomas Westmoreland.
Linda leaves behind her friend and caregiver: Terri Mayle of Belington, brothers; Frank Day, wife Jeanie, of Philippi, WV, Howard Day, and wife Becky of Cleveland Tenn., several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister; Vieva Day Maxwell, and a brother; Ottis Lee Day, and wife Delores, sister-in-law; Debbie Day, grandparents, Ottis Sigley, and Neta Sigley.
Linda lived in Clarksburg, WV., and several places in Florida, before returning to Philippi, WV. She worked at Goodwill and various other jobs until her health declined. She loved playing Bingo and running around town she was always ready to travel. Her favorite holiday was Christmas she pretty much left her tree up all year. Her gentle laughter and caring demeanor will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Family and friends may gather on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi from 5 pm until 6:30 pm following visiting hours. Linda's request for cremation will be honored. Inurnment will follow at the Trinity Cemetery on Brushy Fork Road, Bridgeport WV., beside her grandmother Neta Sigley.
