He is survived by: his children, Gerald Jr., Kari and Brandon; his siblings, Tom Jako of Kentucky, Don Jako (Susan) of Kentucky, John Jako (Linda) of Kentucky and Michelle Comer (Larry) of Florida; and his former wife Melanie Jako of Wheeling, WV.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
