With sadness, we share the passing of Donald Eugene Waldie of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Donald, born on October 2, 1934, passed away on August 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas D. Waldie and Bonnie Waldie (Mayes); his wife Margaret Leah Waldie (Asher); and his brothers, Thomas D. Waldie and William J. "Bill" Waldie.
He is survived by: his sons, Matthew D. Waldie (Jann) of Charleston, WV and Mark A. Waldie (Sally) of Sylvania, OH; his grandchildren, Blake Waldie of Reston, VA, Logan Waldie of Lancaster, OH, Nicole Minor (Dave) of Sylvania, OH, Emily Waldie (Josh Archer) of Kailua, HI, Tyler Waldie (Emma) of Cincinnati, OH and Susan Waldie (Art Wolf) of Duluth, MN; and his nephews, Scott Waldie (Sherrie Girten) of Lewisport, KY and Craig Waldie (Gay) of Hawesville, KY. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and additional family members.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home (2226 Jackson Ave, Point Pleasant, WV 25550). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at the New Lone Oak Cemetery.
Donald was a past President of the Ordinance Grade School, PTA, Point Pleasant Big Black Backers Association, and the Point Pleasant River Museum Foundation.
