He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Barkey and Nora Barkey (Dee); his former wife Paula Simpkins (Monroe Barkey); and his brother Bill Barkey. He is survived by: his children, Brandy Sweeney (Brandon) of Point Pleasant, Brandon Barkey (Kathy Zieske) of Point Pleasant and Branson Barkey (Heather) of Point Pleasant; his grandchildren, Braydon, Bryson and Braylon Sweeney; his children, Brooklyn, Brittyn, Brystal Barkey, Braylea and Brilynn Barkey; his brother Paul Barkey; his sisters-in-law, Kathy Barkey and Roxanne Weaver; and his nieces and nephews, John Barkey, Scott, Jennifer Barkey, Nina Barkey, Justin Weaver (Ciara) and Kaylee Weaver.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home (1701 Jefferson Blvd, Point Pleasant, WV 25550). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Jerry requested donations be made to Mason County Toys for Kids Association.
