She was predeceased by: her mother Patricia Ann Woodrum Matthews; and her siblings, Connie Matthews, Michael Lee Matthews and David William Matthews. She is survived by: her father Major William Matthews, Sr. (Rebecca) of Princeton; her siblings, Gary Short of Fredericksburg, VA, Melina Mills (Steve) of Mego, WV, Danny Short of Charleston, WV, Stacy Matthews of Beckley, Major "Moose" Matthews, Jr. (Becky) of Princeton, Terry Whittaker (Keith) of Princeton and Jamie Farmer of Flat Top; her aunts and uncles, Elgie Matthews (Marian) of Lashmeet, James Woodrum of Princeton, Beulah Vance (Eddie) of New Richmond, WV and Macie Treadway (Tommy) of New Richmond, WV; and her pets, Lulu, Biscuit, Gypsy and Sally. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
