He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Erps; his parents, Robert Erps and Evelyn Erps; his sister Joyce Ann; his brother-in-law Melvin McBride; his brother Robert; his sister-in-law Catherine Erps; and his sister Donna Erps.

He is survived by: his brother Bill; his sister-in-law Sue Erps; his brother Claude Erps; and his friend Joy Robinette. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, extended family members, and countless friends.

The scholarship will be managed through the Community Foundation of The Virginias.
