He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Edwards and Okie Sisco Edwards; his wife Joyce Turner Edwards; his sons, Brian Edwards and Timmy Edwards; and his siblings, Tarzan Edwards, Harry Edwards and Theodosia "Theo" Gibson.
He is survived by: his son Richard Edwards (Leann); his grandchildren, Michelle Bailey, Carl Mullins of Roderfield, Alexis Edwards of Panther, Hannah Edwards of Panther, Scottie Edwards, Lorrie of Iaeger, Darrell Edwards and Tasha Brinkley; his siblings, Roger Edwards (Abigail), Freelon Edwards (Rachel), Bobby Edwards (Carol) and Armeda King; and his pets, Creek, Myrtle King of Princeton, Shirley Kennedy, Wayne of Beartown, Elizabeth Rowe of Roderfield, Debbie Key and George of Crumpler. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Fanning Funeral Home (4299 Coal Heritage Rd, Iaeger, WV 24844). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
