He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Colvard and Helen Smith Colvard; his sons, Robert Colvard and Randolph Colvard; and his brother David Colvard.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Lee Colvard, Jr. (Patricia) of Winston-Salem, NC, Ronda Lynn Stafford (Michael Dooley) of Princeton and Robyn Littleton (Edwin) of Cross Lanes, WV; his grandchildren, Travis Colvard, Zack Colvard, Emily Colvard, Ashley Colvard, Austin Colvard, Daniel Doletol and Crista Colvard; his siblings, Elmer Colvard, Jr. of Bicknal Flats, WV, Shirley Trail (Eddie) of Bicknal Flats, WV and Linda Towery (Joe) of Shreveport, LA; and his close friend Jack Bovier of Princeton. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
