With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Clara Jeanette Meadows (Rainelle, West Virginia), who passed away on August 26, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Thomas and Orpha Christine Smoot; her husband Garland Meadows; her son Ronald Paul Meadows; and her siblings, Billy, James, Tom, Robert, June Smoot, Edith Cales and Margaret Baker.
She is survived by: her children, Margaret Slocum, Linda Fluharty (Tom), Gary Meadows (Donna), Karen Fike (Gary) of Baltimore, Dale Cook of Rupert and Allen Lynn Cook; and her grandchildren, Julie, Laura, Randall, Carrie, Jennifer, Rachel, Patrick, Bridget, Susie, Garin, Emily and Dalana. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Smathers Funeral Chapel Inc. (675 Main St, Rainelle, WV 25962). A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
